An explosion at a factory saw 13 workers taken to hospital.
The emergency services were called at 8.20pm on Monday after an explosion in an oven at manufacturer Flexitallic in Cleckheaton, West Yorkshire. The incident had happened in an oven used to make gasket sheets in a ground floor extension of the Hunsworth Lane factory.
West Yorkshire Fire Service went to the factory with specialist equipment and 13 people were taken to hospital for check-ups to make sure they had not been injured by the blast. A fire investigation officer also attended the scene to look into the cause.
The fire service released a statement about the explosion, saying it had happened in Flexitallic’s manufacturing area, causing staff working on the nightshift to be evacuated with 13 employees being checked out at hospital as a precaution.
