Fire crews were called to a blaze at a pub in Gronant, north Wales, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Two people escaped unhurt as six fire crews, which included firefighters from Prestatyn, Rhyl, Holywell, Flint, Abergele and Colwyn Bay, tackled the flames at the Bells of St Mary’s on Mostyn Road after a call to emergency services was made at 1.30am.
An investigation is due to get under way to establish the cause of the fire, although it is not being considered suspicious.
North Wales Fire and Rescue confirmed that two people inside the pub were alerted to the flames by an alarm and made their way to safety.
A fire service spokeswoman said the bar and restaurant area was heavily smoke-logged by the blaze, while the A548 was temporarily closed because of the incident.
