Facilities managers have until September 3 to examine a review of the occupational standards for management in the construction sector and put forward their views.
The Construction Industry Council (CIC) has begun an online consultation process for proposed changes to the Construction Senior Management National Occupational Standards. These are designed to reflect the latest innovations and practices in low-carbon, sustainable energy use and Building Information Modelling.
As well as facilities and buildings managers, the standards will apply to contracts, production, commercial and specialist construction managers; the operational directors of smaller firms and those involved in the project management side of the construction industry.
The standards are also aimed at all those who are responsible for construction projects from start to finish; those who keep stakeholders informed of progress and the leaders of teams tasked with delivering construction schemes.
The CIC wants to gauge whether the standards are suitable and wants as many respondents as possible to take part in the online consultation at cic.consult-on.com
