Fifty firefighters tackled a massive blaze at a famous Cheshire bar and restaurant which is popular with celebrities.
Crews spent Tuesday night fighting the fire at Panacea in Alderley Edge, and remained at the scene into Wednesday.
It was reported that flames were seen at the venue, on London Road, at about 10.30pm, and emergency services were called.
Roads in the vicinity were closed into Wednesday as the site was inspected by fire safety officers. Nobody was hurt in the blaze.
Cheshire Police have launched an appeal for witnesses to the incident, and a spokesman confirmed an investigation is underway into the cause of the fire.
It is not the first time Panacea has been affected by a fire, Manchester Evening News reported.
Just days before its grand opening in 2008, the bar and restaurant was destroyed by a blaze, and it ended up with a refurbishment bill of £3.2 million.
English and Welsh premises which are not for domestic use must have a “suitable and sufficient” fire risk assessment executed under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
If it is thought that the assessment has not been carried out to a sufficient extent, the Responsible Person can be handed an unlimited fine, or up to two years in jail.
