Firefighters have been called to tackle a blaze at an Indian restaurant and takeaway in a Scottish town.
Flames in the kitchen area of the New Turban curry house in Giffnock, in the heart of Glasgow’s Southside, East Renfrewshire, prompted many calls to emergency services on Saturday afternoon (April 27).
Fire crews arrived at 2.05pm and spent over two hours fighting the blaze.
They started aggressive cutting away in the kitchen to prevent the fire spreading in the Fenwick Place restaurant.
A spokesman for the restaurant, which last year celebrated its 30th anniversary, said that luckily nobody was hurt.
He said that the local fire brigade arrived in time to stop the fire spreading.
The spokesman added: “I am sure we will be up and running again very soon.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue service spokesman said that the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
He added that there were no casualties.
