The International Facility Management Association (IFMA) has launched a new European Union-based coalition which aims to inform stakeholder groups and decision-makers on the importance of FM issues.
Unveiled at the European Facility Management conference in Berlin, the new EU FM Coalition is hoping to reinforce the link between FM and public-sector goals like energy efficiency.
The coalition, which is composed of IFMA and other FM groups from various countries across the EU, was launched on June 4 in conjunction with World FM Day.
A statement released by the IFMA said that the EU FM Coalition is set to become the “pre-eminent public advocacy body for facility management” within the European Union.
British Institute of Facilities Management chief executive Gareth Tancred said that the body was happy to be part of the new coalition. He added that the EU FM Coalition would ensure that FM groups would be able to “collaborate on common agendas” in key areas of legislation.
