Two new best practice guides have been released by the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM) focusing on benchmarking and space planning and management.
The guides complement the BIFM’s facilities management (FM) guidance suite and form part of the institute’s aim to improve standards and professionalism in FM.
The new Benchmarking guide comes on the back of the release of BIFM’s FM Leaders Forum paper on benchmarking. It backs up the major findings from the forum and provides practical help on how to implement benchmarking practices in the workplace.
Space is a strategic asset for business over time and it is important facilities managers know how to use it in order to support a company’s objectives.
The Space Planning and Management guide offers practical help on the tools and methods that can be used. It shows in simple terms how to manage and change space, allowing users to adopt overarching space management strategies for a company.
BIFM product development manager Jacqueline Gillman said: “The guides are written by facilities management experts and provide guidance on core topics and specialist issues within FM.”
