Three fire crews are trying to control a fire which has been burning for 24 hours.
The blaze at the the Celtic Waste Management Service site in Pontyclun, Wales, started on Tuesday morning and firefighters are still at the scene along with a water bowser and hose-laying vehicle.
At the height of the fire there were 11 crews at the scene.
Now Natural Resources Wales has been called in to identify ways of removing the remaining waste material.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 states that commercial buildings, non-domestic and multi-occupancy premises in England and Wales must undertake a fire risk assessment.
The vast majority of businesses carry this out to a good level. If it is found that it was carried out to an insufficient extent, those responsible can face an unlimited fine or up to two years in prison.
