An investigation has been launched after more than 70 firefighters were called out to tackle a huge fire at a haulage trailer factory in East Yorkshire.
The inferno swept through the Montracon plant in Market Weighton at around 11pm on 17 August, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake.
One local resident reportedly heard two “very distinctive booms” before seeing flames “leaping out” from the window of his house in the East Riding of Yorkshire town.
Local fireman Rob Grayson told reporters: “When we arrived, the firefighters were confronted by a large fire which was spreading quickly.
“Site management had already evacuated the site and they provided us with plans of the building and information on hazardous materials.”
Fire crews fought the blaze for more than two hours extinguishing the flames, but they remained at the scene until shortly after 5am the following morning to find that 15% of the factory had been destroyed.
