A south-west construction company has been fined £2,000 by Bristol Magistrate’s Court due to lack of adequate bathrooms for its workers.
Bristol based CR Construction (SW) Ltd were said to be aware of the requirements having been given an Improvement Notice on another of their sites in Thornbury.
The deficiencies were found on the Pembroke Road, Bristol site following an inspection by Health and Safety Executives on 16 June 2011.
The Bristol court was told that after investigations were made, inspectors discovered that the required facilities had not been in place on the site since it opened.
As many as sixteen employes worked on the building site which had been in operation for a year.
CR Construction (SW) Ltd were given £2,000 in fines and had to pay costs of £2,014 after admitting breaking regulation 22 (1) (c) of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2007 of the Health a Safety at Work Act 1974.
