Facilities managers place more emphasis on keeping up their service levels while saving money than any other responsibility, according to a new poll.
Most FMs are asked to cut costs for their organisation but ensuring services are not unduly affected is their main priority, an FM World survey has discovered.
The research held on World FM Day on June 4 found the second most important role to FMs is reacting to changes in the corporate environment, ahead of improving the energy efficiency, responding to flexible working practices and communicating clearly with customers and clients.
FMs also listed making sure they adhere to the law as a priority but it was further down the list, as were better procurement practices and introducing the latest technology.
Global FM’s World FM Day is held to lift the profile of the profession worldwide and theme of year’s event was Global Knowledge Sharing.
