Fire services worked late into the night on Wednesday to extinguish a blaze at a food factory in Norwich.
The fire at Broadland Hams, on the Sweet Briar Road Industrial Estate, began shortly before 2pm on Wednesday. Over 50 firefighters were called to the scene and staff were evacuated while the surrounding roads were closed.
Smoke from the fire caused poor visibility and other problems in the area as the fire raged on, with drivers on the A140 warned to be careful and one person having to be treated after breathing in smoke.
Investigators are still trying to determine the cause for what Richard Herrell, a group manager at Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, said was a “very challenging fire”.
