The professional body for facilities managers now has a regional section in Wales.
BIFM members and other professionals responsible for FM in Wales will be able to work more closely together to share expertise and best practice.
The organisation’s CEO, Gareth Tancred, said the time was right to make Wales a BIFM region because of a rise in membership there and it would be looking at other areas of the UK to see if more regions are needed.
The chair of the new Welsh region is Roger Smart. He said it will be working tirelessly to promote the benefits of BIFM membership to all those responsible for business premises and various events will be held across Wales. He said the plan is to publicise FM in Wales as much as possible.
The first event of its kind is set for June 5 at Cardiff’s Millennium Centre. Mr Smart is among those scheduled to speak, as well as National Procurement Service head of FM and construction Claire Powell and Sustain Wales CEO David Fitzpatrick.
