Staff and patients were rushed to safety after a fire broke out at a hospital in north Wales last week.
A total of 27 patients, including three infants, had to be evacuated from Wrexham Maelor Hospital, although there were no injuries reported.
Hospital staff raised the alarm at around 11.40pm on Friday after smoke began drifting into two wards on the first floor.
The fire started in an empty room on the ground floor of the hospital, just off the unoccupied outpatient ward, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS) said.
A special care unit close to the affected wards, where the children were being treated, was also evacuated as a precautionary measure.
The children were able to return to the ward once the fire was extinguished, with the rest of the evacuated patients being treated on other wards at the hospital.
“The exact cause of the fire is currently being investigated but it is thought to be accidental,” a NWFRS spokesman said.
